As a volunteer-driven organization, Person-to-Person operates with a staff of 23 full- and part-time professionals, which includes seven caseworkers.

Senior Staff

Ceci Maher, Executive Director
Under Ceci’s leadership, Person-to-Person has experienced a significant increase in budget – from $4.5MM in 2005 to $10.5MM in 2014, positioning the agency for growth in delivery of services and programs to a larger geographic area in Fairfield County. Her key accomplishments include identifying the national trend toward and then transitioning the P2P Emergency Food Pantry to a self-service model; managing a comprehensive assessment of the agency that increased operational efficiencies through the establishment of an outcome-focused approach to strategic planning, performance management, and day-to-day administration; meeting a $400,000 capital campaign goal in the midst of a recession with no decrease in annual giving; working with Board Presidents to transition the board into a governance and fundraising body; and leading the agency’s expansion into Norwalk by merging with an existing social service agency to bring the emergency assistance capabilities and resources of P2P to  people in Norwalk, Weston, Westport and Wilton. Ceci instituted standards and practices to professionalize the agency, at the same time increasing marketplace awareness of the P2P mission and corresponding achievements among key constituencies. A Stamford native, Ceci is a graduate of the Columbia University School of Social Work and a Licensed Master Social Worker.

Elizabeth P. Finn, Chief Operating Officer
As the Chief Operating Officer, Elizabeth is in charge of Finance, Human Resources and Technology. Elizabeth worked for P2P for two-and-a-half years as the Finance Associate before assuming her current position. She has a strong background in Finance with previous work experience in Private Banking in Manhattan and Richmond VA. Elizabeth received both her MBA and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The University of Richmond. She currently resides in Fairfield.

Janet King, Director of Volunteers
Janet is responsible for the recruitment, training, and supervision of Person-to-Person’s volunteers. To ensure the efficient running of the agency, she coordinates volunteer schedules, conducts training, and liaises with the community to attract new volunteers; both individuals and community groups. Janet was Director of Member Services at Western Athletic Clubs, San Francisco, CA and worked with Esprit de Corp and Brooks Brothers in New York, NY. Janet is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in business administration and marketing.

Maureen Fergus Sheehan, Director of Development
Maureen is responsible for developing and implementing Person-to-Person’s fundraising initiatives. She has more than two decades of experience with non-profits that help individuals in crisis to improve their lives. Since 2006, Maureen has served as Director of Development at Part of the Solution (POTS), one of New York City’s largest emergency food providers. During her tenure at POTS, she successfully coordinated a major capital campaign, doubled the organization’s operating revenue and base of support. Previously, she served as Executive Director of POTS, Director of Development & Communications for New York City’s FoodBank, and as the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York. Maureen began her non-profit work as a Jesuit Volunteer in the Bronx and graduated from Georgetown University.

Marina Thomas, Director of Social Services
Marina supervises the casework staff and oversees the implementation and success of Person-to-Person’s Emergency Assistance program. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has worked with social service agencies in the greater Stamford area for many years. Marina has a strong background in program development and management and has extensive counseling experience working with individuals and families. She received her BA from Dickinson College and an MA in Community Counseling from Fairfield University. Marina has been with Person-to-Person for more than 10 years.


Troy Ellen Dixon, Head of Marketing & Communications
A marketing professional with experience across a variety of industries, Troy Ellen is responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive communication strategy for P2P across all audience segments and in support of all marketplace initiatives. Having established a successful consulting practice with a non-profit focus and client roster that included AmeriCares and St. Luke’s LifeWorks (Inspirica), she provided marketing counsel to and developed communication initiatives for the Westport Weston Family Y capital campaign, and developed and implemented strategic marketing initiatives for Person-to-Person – including the Helping Hands capital campaign. With capabilities that include branding/positioning and strategic planning, direct marketing, press and publicity, copywriting and conceptual design, and web design/development, Troy Ellen has demonstrated success in design and implementation of initiatives that establish marketplace presence, increase market share and maximize ROI. She has a proven ability to translate strategic vision into effective business-building initiatives, thoughtful marketing solutions and meaningful communication efforts. Troy Ellen holds a BA from the College of Arts and Sciences at Oberlin College.

Callie M. Jayne, Norwalk Site Manager
Callie is responsible for all operational matters at the Norwalk office, including volunteer management, shift scheduling and Food Pantry inventory. Callie is also responsible for recruiting volunteers, organizing food drives and donations, and working more closely with corporate teams in Norwalk and the towns of Weston, Westport and Wilton. Having served as a Masters-candidate Intern at Person-to-Person in Darien, Callie contributed to a variety of projects across all departments – most notably as a key participant in development of a robust online resource for individuals to search volunteer opportunities and schedule volunteer shifts at the Darien and Norwalk offices. Callie earned the Masters of Human Services in Nonprofit Management from Post University.

Sophie Neumann, Darien Site Manager
Sophie joined Person-to-Person in June 2015. She is responsible for operational matters at the Darien site, ensuring that the Food Pantry, Reception and Clothing Center are operating effectively on a daily basis. Sophie is also responsible for volunteer management, shift scheduling and Food Pantry inventory as well as working with the community to organize food drives and in-kind donations. Prior to joining P2P, Sophie worked in development and fundraising. She graduated from Fairfield University with a BA in Communication.

Susan Zelman, Norwalk Assistant Site Manager
Susan joined Person-to-Person in July 2015. She is responsible for assisting with operational matters at the Norwalk office, including volunteer management, shift scheduling and Food Pantry inventory. Prior to joining P2P, Susan was regional coordinator of a student-to-student tutoring network and has over 20 years’ experience in the market research industry. She continues to be actively involved in school and community organizations, as a fundraiser organizer, event coordinator and communications specialist. She graduated from St. John’s University with a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and currently lives in Norwalk with her husband and two boys.

Casework Staff

The casework model at Person-to-Person uses the team approach, which combines extensive professional experience and collaborative energy to meet the immediate and long-term needs of Emergency Assistance clients at our offices in Darien and Norwalk. Working together under the guidance of the Director of Social Services, the paid staff includes bilingual caseworkers, Master’s level social workers and a Master’s level Licensed Professional Counselor. The team also includes a volunteer caseworker with more than 25 years of experience at the agency and is supported by a casework associate.
