We are so appreciative of the outpouring of compassion and concern, and all of the creative ways that the community has rallied together to help one another during this unprecedented crisis. So many of you have take action over the past few months to help ensure that the essential needs of all in our community are being met. The need for your support continues, as we help families rebuild.

Please see below for current needs:

Financial Contributions: As our response to the COVID-19 crisis continues, our resources have been directed to meet the escalating needs. As we serve an increasing number of people, your support will help us remain responsive to this crisis, as we help families move towards recovery. A gift of $100 would help provide a week’s worth of groceries to a family of four. Please consider a financial donation today to help us provide essential services to the most vulnerable among us. Donate here.

Virtual Food Drive: With many area residents already living paycheck-to-paycheck, even the slightest reduction in income can create a financial crisis for the entire household. We know that this has been an especially difficult time for many people suffering from job loss, school closures, and other disruptions. By making a purchase of food or making a financial donation, we can ensure families have access to healthy, nutritious food at this critical time.  Give Food on our Virtual Food Drive here.

Volunteer: As our food assistance distribution has adapted to new protocols and to meet emerging needs, more volunteers are needed to help us “Get Food Where It Needs 2 Be.” Help is needed to pre-pack as well as to deliver food through our Door2Door program, following social distance protocols. Volunteers are also needed to help sort clothing donations and re-open our clothing center. Please email Juri Garone to get involved.

Donate Clothing: Resuming July 6th, we will be accepting summer clothing and shoes, clean and in good condition. We are especially in need of children’s clothing. Donations should be sorted by gender and size and placed in bags with gender and size written on the outside. Please note that we are not accepting: strollers, car seats, used toys, electronics, books, household appliances, or furniture. Volunteers are needed to help sort clothing. Thank you for your generosity which allows us to fill this essential need for local families!

Donate Food: Donations of shelf stable food such as hearty soup, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, and pasta sauce will help families have what they need during these uncertain months. With school closures in our area, too many children have not been being receiving school-based meal programs. Help families ensure that children continue to learn and thrive. Food donations can be brought to our Darien or Norwalk food pantries. See a list of our most needed food items here. Call (203)655-0048 for more information.

Gift Cards: Gift cards to area grocery stores in any denomination can be delivered to our Darien or Norwalk locations.

During this uncertain time, we are truly grateful for the community that has joined together to make our work possible.

Thank you for your ongoing generosity and support!
