Person-to-Person has received a $10,000 grant from Westport-based Newman’s Own Foundation to support the Norwalk Emergency Assistance Program.
This P2P program, which provides food, clothing and financial assistance, helps meet the immediate need of the working poor – such as food insecurity or the threat of eviction – and offers casework services to guide clients toward self-sufficiency. Through the P2P Norwalk office, these services are available to residents of Norwalk, Weston, Westport and Wilton.
Since 1989, Newman’s Own Foundation has been a steady supporter of Person-to-Person. “We are pleased that the P2P mission aligns with Paul Newman’s dream of changing the lives of those less fortunate,” says P2P Executive Director Ceci Maher. “This ongoing support of the work we do is greatly appreciated. It helps make a difference in the lives of people who come to P2P for assistance.”
Newman’s Own Foundation turns all net profits and royalties from the sale of Newman’s Own products into charitable donations. To date, Paul Newman and Newman’s Own Foundation have given over $475 million to thousands of charities around the world.
