Officers and members of the Northeast Region Corporate Industry Liaison Group (NERC ILG) recently approved a $20,000 grant request for the P2P Scholarship Program.

NERC ILG is a non-profit 501(c)(3), consisting of private industry EEO and Diversity professionals, that partners, collaborates and maintains a working relationship with government agencies to help ensure equal employment opportunity within private industry.

Part of the NERC ILG mission is to support non-government organizations having objectives that align with those of NERC. The grant award letter noted that, through the Scholarship Program, Person-to-Person works to enhance opportunities for students from low-income families which “clearly aligns with [the NERC] mission to advance equal employment opportunities for all individuals.”

With 80% of P2P Scholars graduating college – which is well above the national average of 26% for college students from low-income households – the Scholarship Program offers a pathway out of poverty and supports the students’ journey toward self-sufficiency.

On behalf of the P2P Scholars who will benefit from this grant, we extend our sincere gratitude for the generosity of the NERC ILG officers and members.
