The clothing center re-opened to clients following temporary move due to COVID and building maintenance

Darien, CONN (June 16, 2022)— Person to Person (P2P) officially re-opened its main Darien-based clothing center last week, following a two-year shift due to COVID restrictions and extended building maintenance at its main location. Today, the renovated clothing center offers a store-like shopping experience for our clients looking for women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing.

The clothing center’s shift included the creation of ‘clothing pop-ups’ at the Darien location, followed by a temporary move to the South Norwalk Community Center, thanks to a partnership with The Norwalk YMCA, to meet the high demand for clothing.

“We are thrilled to welcome clients back to our main clothing center in Darien,” shared P2P CEO Nancy Coughlin. “Clothing is at the heart of P2P, and is one of the first services offered to the community since we first opened our doors in 1968.”

The clothing center is a vital source of new and gently-used clothing for thousands in our community. The success of the clothing center is thanks to a dedicated team of P2P staff and volunteers, led by clothing center manager Leah Quinn (pictured, front row second from left, with team of volunteers), and the generous community for their donations. Last year the clothing center distributed more than 26,000 bags of clothing.
