P2P is happy to share videos created by Stamford-based Rogers International School PTO’s Anti-Racism Committee (ARC), developed in honor of Black History Month in February. The ARC and student volunteers created short videos on important Black figures from U.S. history. Their hope through this project is to highlight the often overlooked contributions of Black people in the U.S. and also create the opportunity for students, parents, and teachers to talk about race in a meaningful way. We hope you are as inspired by these young students as much as we are.

Heroes featured include Matthew Henson, Mae Jemison, Katherine Johnson, Jackie Robinson, Langston Hughes, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Sarah Rector, Duke Ellington, and Shirley Chisholm.

The mission of the ARC is to engage the Rogers community in meaningful discussions and conscious actions that promote racial equity and combat the many forms of racism.

Thanks to the Rogers PTO ARC for sharing this wonderful project with us. P2P partnered with the Rogers PTO ARC for a video honoring Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
