The Board of Directors of The Inner-City Foundation For Charity & Education has awarded a $10,000 grant for the Person-to-Person Campership Program. With this grant, P2P will be able to send more than 16 Stamford school children to local day camps this summer.
For children in the P2P Campership Program, summer is much more than playtime and picnics. It is reading and day trips and seeing the world in a different way outside the classroom. The program not only benefits the children – by providing the type of enrichment that translates into better academic performance when they return to school in the fall, it also offers peace of mind to parents who are assured that their children are cared for and safe while they are working during the summer months.
As noted in the award letter, The Inner-City Foundation For Charity & Education receives numerous grant applications to fund programs and services that will improve the lives of at-risk and needy children and adults in Fairfield County. At Person-to-Person, and on behalf of the families that will benefit from this generosity, we are very grateful to be selected from among the many worthy causes seeking aid.
