New Canaan Community Foundation Board of Directors, acting on the recommendation of the Sapienza Scholarship Committee, has approved a $2,000 scholarship block grant for the P2P Scholarship Program.
At Person-to-Person, we not only strive to meet the immediate need of people who come to the agency for assistance but also support the educational aspirations of students from low-income families. “The Scholarship Program offers a pathway out of poverty and supports a student’s journey toward self-sufficiency,” says P2P Executive Director Ceci Maher. She also notes that 80% of P2P Scholars graduate college – a figure well above the national average of 26% for college students from low-income households.
On behalf of the P2P Scholars who will benefit, we thank the Sapienza Scholarship Committee and New Canaan Community Foundation for this grant.
