Coming together has taken on new meaning over the last seven months of the pandemic. No longer is it just about gathering physically, but rather how we are coming together to support our friends, family, and especially those in our community who are struggling.
A recent note we received from a client, Emilio, beautifully illustrates this sentiment, “I just wanted to thank you for your kindness and help. I received my food yesterday and it was the kindest thing somebody’s done for me in a long time. Thank you so much for filling my house up with joy and allowing me to have a meal that I haven’t had in a long time. Thank you so much.”
It’s a note like this that confirms the urgency of our work, and reminds us that it’s not just about the food itself, but what it represents. It represents the act of us coming together. While P2P is doing the work to support clients like Emilio, we cannot do it alone.
This Thanksgiving, while I will miss seeing my extended family, I am truly grateful for my P2P community. Working daily with our clients, volunteers, staff, and donors, I know that we are truly blessed.
As the needs of individuals and families intensify as the pandemic continues, please consider a gift so we may continue to support our neighbors, like Emilio. As long as there’s a need, P2P is here to help.
With gratitude,
