P2P on Wheels Returns to Stamford
Person-to-Person (P2P) announces that its mobile food pantry and social services truck, P2P on Wheels, is open again in the city of Stamford starting today. P2P on Wheels, aka ‘Phil the Food Truck’ provides residents with both a self-select mobile food pantry as well as access to a bilingual, P2P trained caseworker. P2P on Wheels was temporarily out of service during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The mobile food pantry offers healthy, nutritious groceries, including fresh produce, dairy items, meat and poultry, and shelf-stable goods. For residents requesting casework services, a P2P caseworker will meet with clients to assess immediate need to help them plan for the future while providing financial assistance for items such as rent and utilities.
“We are very excited to have P2P on Wheels, our mobile food pantry and social services truck, back on the road, in the community, and closer to clients,” shared P2P CEO Nancy Coughlin. “P2P is working with our community partners in Stamford (Yerwood Center/Boys & Girls Club of Stamford, Stamford Manor, Ferguson Library South End Branch, Quintard Manor, DOMUS, and Building One Community) to be able to provide access to health, nutritious food in the mobile pantry as well as access to a trained P2P caseworker.”
P2P requests that individuals make appointments prior receiving services. To make appointments or learn more, please contact the P2P Stamford team at 203-724-9111. Masks are required to receive services.
