Person to Person (P2P) proudly announces Waldino Joseph, a senior at Roger Williams University, as the 2025 recipient of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship. Awarded annually to a college senior who demonstrates a deep commitment to community service, social justice, and leadership, the scholarship honors students who embody the values championed by Rev. Dr. King.

Waldino, a civil engineering major, has made a meaningful impact through his dedication to social justice and community service. He has organized food drives and participated in campus organizations that address prejudice, social justice issues, and current events affecting BIPOC communities. With a long-term vision of supporting communities in need, he hopes to one day return to Haiti, his home country, to help rebuild cities devastated by disasters that have severely impacted infrastructure.

The P2P Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship is part of P2P’s broader Scholarship Program, which has provided financial assistance to college students since 1968, supporting many first-generation college students in achieving their academic goals. This year’s scholarship, generously funded by Allison Gagliardi, owner of Troy Insurance and P2P Board Member, was presented to Waldino during the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration at the Yerwood Center in Stamford, CT, on Monday, January 20, 2025.
