In December, 600 community and corporate volunteers ‘staffed’ the 23rd Annual Holiday Toy Store – setting up the displays, assembling toys, checking in clients, helping clients shop, entertaining children while their parents shopped, wrapping gifts and assisting with clean-up at the close of the two-and-a-half-day event.
We are so thankful for all who made it an unforgettable experience for 887 families – the committee, the donors, the volunteer elves and the staff.
Their enthusiastic holiday spirit made a difference in the lives of 1,922 children who each received a book and a toy plus one board game for the entire family.
The total number of gifts we handed out – the majority of which were donated – are valued at close to $77,000.
It was magical . . . It was memorable . . . It was the most wonderful time of the year.
