Coat client Juliet is very happy with her selections

Person to Person held its annual ‘Keep Norwalk Warm’ event on November 5 and 6 at the South Norwalk Community Center. This annual coat giveaway is held to offer residents in the Greater Norwalk area access to cold weather gear for themselves and their family.

To help maintain social distancing and safety protocols, clients had scheduled time slots to select their coats and outerwear.

P2P is grateful to have support from event sponsor Beiersdorf, Inc., and the Office of the Mayor of Norwalk (Mayor Rilling pictured above with his wife and P2P board member Lucia Rilling and P2P clothing manager Leah Quinn).

Volunteers with National Charity League of Westport and Wilton

This year’s event saw a record 1,913 coats distributed to 421 families, over just two days. An event like this can’t happen without a lot of behind the scenes work. Thank you to all our corporate and community partners who organized coat drives to support this herculean effort to keep our neighbors warm, our beloved reception volunteers in Darien and Norwalk for scheduling all those coat appointments with such ease, and to the volunteers who gave their time assisting clients during the event. Thank you!

NOTE: For clients that were unable to attend and are in need of a coat, please call 203-655-0048.
