Many of you have reached out to ask how you can help ensure that the essential needs of all in our community are met during this unprecedented crisis.  They need your support now more than ever and we are so appreciative of your offers of financial or food contributions, and especially for your genuine concern for the well-being of those we serve.

As this crisis unfolds in the coming weeks, we will remain adaptive and will share emerging needs and ways to help as they present. Please see below for current needs:

Matching Grant COVID-19 Response- We Did It, Thanks to YOU!! Carl Kuehner, Chairman of Building and Land Technology, and Mike Riccardi, P2P Board Member, combined resources to issue a challenge to the community to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak and its devastating impact on vulnerable populations in lower Fairfield County.  Every dollar up to $200,000 was matched by Carl and Mike for a total of $400,000 to support Person-to-Person, a trusted organization leading local efforts to ensure that families experiencing increased food and financial insecurity have a place to turn. Continue to support our work here.

Financial Contributions: As resources are directed to focus on meeting the unfolding needs, and as the number of people we serve may increase, your support will help us remain responsive to this crisis. A gift of $100 would help provide a week’s worth of groceries to a family of four. Please consider a financial donation today to help us provide essential services to the most vulnerable among us. Virtual Food Drive: With many area residents already living paycheck-to-paycheck, even the slightest reduction in income can create a financial crisis for the entire household. We know that an especially difficult path may lay ahead for many people. By making a purchase of food or making a financial donation, we can ensure families have access to healthy, nutritious food at this critical time.  Give Food on our Virtual Food Drive here.

Donate Food: Donations of shelf stable food such as hearty soup, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, and pasta sauce will help families prepare for longer-term impact. With school closures in our area, too many children will not being receiving school-based meal programs. Help families ensure that children continue to learn and thrive. Food donations can be brought to our Darien or Norwalk food pantries. See a list of our most needed food items here. Call (203)655-0048 for more information.

Gift Cards: Gift cards to area grocery stores in any denomination can be delivered to our Darien or Norwalk locations.

Clothing: Out of an abundance of caution, we have temporarily stopped accepting clothing donations until further notice and our clothing center is temporarily closed. We would be so grateful if you could hold on to any donations until we can safely reopen and restock the clothing center.

During this uncertain time, we are truly grateful for the community that joins together to make our work possible. Thank you for your ongoing generosity and support. Stay tuned for additional ways you can help.
