Most of us imagine a summer filled with good times – beaches and picnics, parks and playgrounds, trips to amusement parks and museums. For the children, school’s out and their days are filled with sports, swimming, crafts, field trips and other warm-weather activities, enjoyed with friends and family.

But there is another reality. For many low-income families, whiling away the summer without a care in the world is impossible to imagine. For the parents, school is out and they worry for their children’s safety and the added expense of childcare. And, because many school children receive free or reduced-price school meals, there is also the worry of stretching already meager resources to provide additional meals.

Through the Campership Program, P2P has been sending elementary schoolchildren to summer camp for nearly 50 years. This summer, P2P is giving 500 happy campers the opportunity to have fun, to learn, to thrive in an environment that is rich with stimulating activities and new experiences. Summer camp engages and inspires, so the Campership Program provides enrichment to strengthen each child’s academic performance during the school year. And because parents are able to work, knowing their children are safe during the summer months, it helps to preserve the family’s financial stability.

If you want to help make a difference in the life of a child, click to donate to the P2P Campership Program. For $100 a week … $600 for the summer … you can give a child in need an unforgettable summer experience. Every dollar you donate goes directly to placing children in camp, so we hope you will be as generous as possible.

Thank you!
